What is Lit City Library Con?

Lit City Library Con is a free one-day manga, anime, comics, scifi and gaming convention in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

How much does it cost to attend?

Nothing! It’s free!

When is the next Lit City Library Con?

The next con will be August 22nd, 2026 from 10 am to 4pm.

Where is Lit City Library Con held?

Lit City Library Con is held at the New Bedford Free Public Library Main Branch at 613 Pleasant Street in Downtown New Bedford on the 3rd Floor.

Where do I park?

Street parking, which is free on the weekends, and the nearby Elm Street Garage are both available. If you live in New Bedford or Fall River, you can also take your nearest SRTA bus to the New Bedford bus terminal, which is just a block away from the library!

Is the library handicap accessible?

Yes, the library has a ramp at the main entrance and an elevator that goes to all floors. When you enter the elevator, you want to hit 3, not 3M!

Where are the restrooms?

Restrooms are located on the first floor of the library across from the circulation desk near the main entrance.

Are cosplays welcome?

Yes, absolutely! We highly encourage folks to turn up as their favorite characters. Our only rule is no prop weapons like plastic guns or foam swords.

Why no prop weapons?

Because this event is hosted at the public library, we have to abide by library policy. That includes no weapons, real or fake.

Do you have to come in cosplay?

No, you do not! If cosplay isn’t for you, then just grab your favorite nerdy tee and join the fun comfortably and casually.

What programming will there be this year?

We’re still working on the schedule, but we know that SketchyGoIchie will be joining us in the morning to teach digital art (there’s a participation limit, but spectators are welcome!). Also, the button maker and prize raffle that we’ve done in the past will be back for 2026.

I have an idea for a panel/program; who do I contact?
